Francisco loses title via UD to Singwancha

May 1, Phetchaburi, Thailand

In the 3rd round after exchanging punches, Francisco was backtracking when he was caught with a wild left. He lost his footing and went down.

This knockdown spells the difference between keeping and losing his title for Francisco. This knockdown punch could also be the reason why the scores end this way: 114-113, 114-113 and 117-111.

Francisco was disappointed thinking he won some of the final rounds

“I can accept the 114-113 scores but the 117-111 scorecard of the Japanese judge is unacceptable," said Francisco’s coach and trainer Elmer Anuran. The Japanese judge was a late substitute for a Bulgarian judge who was supposed to work for that fight.

The Thai boxer was the more aggressive throughout the fight. He forced his way to victory and make Francisco fight him on the inside, but. Francisco preferred to stay outside to use his superior height and reach.

Tepparith Singwancha bagged the interim WBA super flyweight title and comes the chance of getting the world title that is currently held by Hugo Cazares of Mexico.

The three judges scored the 9th, 10th and 11th rounds all for the Thai. Only one of them scored the twelfth for Francisco.

WRITER: As I see it, the Thai boxer was in a much better condition, the fact that he was more aggressive and bully his way in at will.
